The Judgement

Avalon

Fortune Cookie: Know what you want. Don’t be crazy, necessarily, but be willing to try something unusual or out of character to get it. Reach out for your destiny.

Wow!! What an amazing card for New Year’s Day… and therefore the overall guiding card for all of 2012! So please, let yourself spend a little extra time over this card, and think of how it may apply to you, for the highest and best! [Yours. Mine. Ev’rybody’s.]

We last saw this card just eight days ago. And nine days before that. And five times altogether in 2011, the most of any card, I’d bet. Which doesn’t particularly mean anything, except for the fact that the card is now showing up in ways that must call attention to itself. And so we should PAY attention to it, and how it really does seem to be asking us to push a little beyond our comfort zones in some pretty specific ways.

It’s really a pretty useful card for the first day of the year, a day of deep winter here in North America… A fine prompt for taking a look at how we might want to shake things up a bit in some positive ways, change some habits, or at least prime ourselves to do so once the holidays are through (and our hangovers are assuaged). Actually, it’s always a good card to work with and one we would do well to allow to guide us. I certainly need to pay more attention to it! [And maybe I will, anyway?]

So. Then. Several layers of interpretations here, and all worth a looksee.

If there’s any inkling in your mind that you might be being

just a tad

judgemental

in any way, shape or form, it’s tremendously important that you STOP THAT RIGHT NOW ~ don’t be judgemental of anyone else. And especially don’t be judgemental toward yourself. It’s not useful or even valid to be that way. Today, and for a while to come, anyway (like a year or so, maybe).

That doesn’t mean you should let yourself – or anyone else − run hog wild, going off half-cocked and half baked in every goofy direction that occurs. Even if it is that time of year. That’s my niche and I really don’t need any more competition, thanks.

Nor should you beat yourself up if you really want to just get quiet and do what it takes to stay grounded – or want to just hide and say, “To hell with ALL these freakin’ Bozos! A plague upon their fruitcakes!” for today. Oh. Wait. That would be kinda judgemental. So you can do it (hide away). Just… don’t say it.

It does mean

~ don’t repress your own tendency to wish for what you really wish for

~ don’t berate yourself for wanting to be able to upgrade

WELL beyond what ordinary reality might provide

lately in some area of your life, but

~ stay grounded for the moment regarding what you actually grab

or grab for

And send kind energy and blessings of Light to those who do get sucked into any craziness that’s around at the moment, especially in the holiday season. [I STILL resent what you’re thinking.]

Also [and I’m finding this one to be unusually important with my clients lately],

be sure you are pursuing what really is for the highest and best of all.

Don’t just do what you’ve always been told you should do in order to be successful, popular, spiritual, thinner, blahdee, blahdee, blahblahblah…

Wrongo, vampire breath!!

That’s a wee bit better, then.

Aw, come on, people. This is serious. Really…

Anyway.

Different decks portray ~ and different readers interpret ~ The Judgement in exceptionally different ways. Some say it indicates a change of position, a renewal or reawakening, an ultimate outcome. Can be good stuff at any time of year. With a little good fortune.

Anna-Marie Ferguson, creator of the Legend deck, finds it portends passing through a gateway to a new existence, an understanding of how one’s actions influence others, good health or a positive legal outcome.

Moi? [Thought you’d never ask.] I tend to see this card as requiring some action. When this card appears, I’m likely to say:

Look. Really. There are powerful, helpful people who would be happy to work with you, work on your behalf, who might actually be out there looking for you right now. But they can’t FIND you where you usually are these days.

There are wonderful, transformational experiences waiting for you. But they can’t happen where you are, in the rhythm of your life as you currently live it.

You’ve got to

go new places,

meet new people,

do new things!

And push yourself a bit to keep doing that for the foreseeable future.

So, while staying grounded and aware of what your wishes are − or could be if you really owned what your wishes really are − entice yourself out of your rut. Shop at different stores, from grocers to clothiers to where you buy your lottery tickets or get your dry cleaning done. Go to different movies at different theaters. Eat at different restaurants. Write at different coffee bars. [Write AT ALL for a change, most of you!] [Hah! Got’em!]

Don’t let yourself stagnate where you are and have been.

Perhaps the most important aspect of this card is that it indicates your destiny is trying to reach out to you and for you. Will you be there? If you will, bear in mind the insight of the card; it reminds us to understand and be conscious of the impact of our actions upon others.

Know what you want. Don’t be crazy, but be willing to try something unusual or out of character to get it.

Reach out for your destiny.

Bright blessings — without even the least little hint of judgemental! [I mean it!]

Seven of Cups

The Questing Beast

Fortune Cookie: Go after the joy. Seek it, quest after it, demand it! And for pity’s sake, at least be sure you can actually define what it is − or what it would be, if you had your druthers − for you.

Hi, Y’all! I’m back, at least fer th’moment!

We last saw this card in mid October. But who cares? It’s an absolutely great card for New Year’s Eve, and the day leading up to it. (Almost wish it were the card for tomorrow.) So hop on and bliss out. NOW!

So are we ready to pay attention? Huh? Huh? Eh?

That’s good, because it’s an important card with a very solid reminder. A reminder of what?

A reminder that we [most of us who are over five years old, ennyway] really need to work on joyfulness in our lives. I know. Sounds couter-intuitive. Right? Well, toobadpayattentionI’mtalkin’here.

So. Joyfulness. My advice would be to stop reading this, have a Guiness or a Mimosa or a tequila sunrise or an Irish coffee or some God Bud pancakes or strawberry cough brownies, or a…

Oh, wait. The blog police are scanning the office. Mindsniffing for fumes. [Creeps.] But that doesn’t mean YOU shouldn’t enjoy yourself in any of the ways suggested.

Or not.

Anyway…

We really need to work on joyfulness in our lives. Really.

This is another card where my interpretation may diverge a tidly, tadly bit [or a monster bunch] from that of other readers. And I’m pretty joyful about it.

Some see the Seven of Cups as recommending opening to visions through contemplation. [My astrologer Mary Ellen tells me this is a big year for me in that realm. Guess I better clean out the meditation room.] [Where is the meditation room?] [Oyeah. It’s behind that pile of books on Feng Shui and vegan grilling.]

Mustn’t argue with opening to visions through contemplation, ever, unless you’re ready to have the Storm Troopers of Light come kick yer butt all across the floor, not to mention several dimensions, with at least one of them being Texas. And gold lamé spacesuits with emerald wings and ruby go-go boots first thing in the morning are more than I can handle.

Some readers find the card dictates that the querent (questioner) has a choice to make, and must decide upon one of various options. [Like, maybe where to put the old Vox amplifier, kayac, blue aluminum Yuletide tree, statues of Grover Cleveland and pile of books on Feng Shui now that I’m clearing out the meditation room?] [Or whether to continue reading this silly sh… Ummm… Stuff.]

Anna-Marie Ferguson, creator of the Legend deck, sees this card as betokening – among other things − fantasy, whims or perhaps a bizarre turn of events. Right up my alley. [My office cat refers to my desk as Eddie Poe’s Bizar Bazar.]

I, however see the Seven of Cups as the card of utter, total complete joy and joyful abandon.

There may be some need to stay at least a bit grounded, so you DON’T go completely off into the realm of fantasy in a

҉ ҉ ҉ Wow, look at all the pretty colors! ҉ ҉ I’ll betcha I can too live on air and rainbows and weird herbal pancakes ҉ ҉ ҉ !” kinda scenario.

But [but! but! but! but! but!] this is also the card of

Fairy Favors,

creativity and

clear vision

around attaining true desires.

[Legally, mind.] (And, as I said to a client in a recent reading, it really does imply that you’re going to do some meaningful work on defining and owning what your TRUE desires in this life actually are!)

Right?

Thought so!

And this can be a great, great time to do some wishcraft around becoming reacquainted with the Green Fey Friends down the garden way now that Summer is nigh past, and work to re-earn the Fairy Favors they offer.

So go after the joy. Seek it, quest after it, demand it! And for pity’s sake, at least be sure you can actually define what it is − or what it would be, if you had your druthers − for you.

Let yourself renew your belief in and commitment to your happiness, and be open to the myriad magical ways the universe may offer to bring it to you. Let yourself be open to surprises and miracles in that regard. And open to a little Fairy Magic today!

Joy! Joy! Joy!

And JOY!!!

Bright blessings!

And don’t forget joy!

Today’s Weather: Ivy. House blooming lavender. Transpersonal wee folk litanies. Embrace ’em as the bells toll!

Temperance

The Cauldron of Annwn

Fortune Cookie: Take stock of how you want your life to evolve. Begin moving in that direction slowly, evenly, comfortably, braiding together the old with the new but evolving forward until only the new exists.

This card last showed up all the way back toward the middle of January. And it’s a fascinating card for Christmas day, eh? A rather pointed reminder of how things COULD be today, but usually aren’t. So take THAT, orgiastic proponents of excessive consumption and massive overstuffness and overstuffedness! I fling my fruitcake in your general direction!

Ha!

Where was I?

Oyeah.

Temperance is not necessarily an Aquarian’s favorite card. But it is good advice. This card says very directly how it would have you go about the day:

temperately, calmly, easily, neither striving to leap over tall buildings in a single bound nor being a slug and hiding under the covers till dinner. [I’ve already got dibs on that space.]It’s a card that counsels you to guard against thoselittle wee tendencies to go toextremes − even supposedly positive ones. Seek moderation today, and patience, and perhaps even a touch of diplomacy, no matter how much you might wish to just nuke the silly m#%@%@f**&##@s [that’s the Ukrainian spelling] and be done with it!

When this card shows up in a reading, I often suggest that the client may be on the cusp of a substantial change.

BUT the way to best and most positively bring the change into being is to

go about the transformation slowly, thoughtfully: braiding or blending together the old with the new until, over an appropriate time, the new alone becomes who you are and what you do.

So you don’t end up like this.

Unless you really want to.

It’s a card of making profound and helpful changes slowly, by not throwing the baby out with the bathwater.

[For pity’s sake, though, DO let yourself begin the process of change. Don’t let yourself be a sitting duck where you are.] [Editor grabs my right wrist, slams it onto table to prevent Google search for duck image.]

[Editor wins.  Bah!]

So, let yourself explore how you would like your life to be, and how you would wish to move in positive new directions.

Then stop and honestly take stock of who you are, where you are and how you have gotten there.

Specifically acknowledge the good parts, the successful aspects, the skills, abilities and characteristics that are worth keeping and using and developing as you go forward.

And blend them into the new you that is coming onto being.

Good things to be about on a Christmas day, no matter what spiritual path you may follow.

Bright blessings and timely, comfortable and comforting emergings!

Six of Shields

Castle of Maidens

Fortune Cookie: Know what you would bring back to into your life, for the highest and best. Know that now, today is the day when that renewal, that reconnection, that return, can begin.

[Please feel free to click on this link and listen to some wonderful music of the season while you read. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ywMOMedVVZs ]

Fascinating card to show up for Christmas Eve Day, no matter what spiritual path you walk (or run away from).

On a day that is often filled with both joy and longing, deep and immediate elation and extra-potent nostalgia, it really can be a good day to spend at least a few moments taking stock of what has been lost (or presumed lost) that we would have return into our lives. So do pull out those musty old ideals and hopes and have another whack at what they may still help you bring into being.

Now, normally, this is where I would go off into the sillies about what Monty Python did with the whole Castle of Maidens thing. But I’ll pass on that today. Just once. Sadly. Oh well, there’s always next time.

And although the Arthurian Castle of Maidens story may have led to about the kind of scenes you’d have expected from the Pythons, the real legend − and the meaning of the card − is actually very good, very kind, very positive.

Pretty much any reader will tell you that the Six of Shields betokens generosity, charitable acts and material gain. Sounds good for today. Some might also indicate it’s a sign that you will soon reach a position where you feel you can help others. (Always good!)

In my readings, I’m often intuitively prompted to take the interpretation a bit farther and in a slightly different direction. [Which of you nastynosed skroots said, “What else is new?” Eh? Eh? Today, of all days?] I’m likely to say something like:

Okay. Yo! Focus for a minute!

Let your inner vision move back and forth in time across your life.

Something that is yours by right

that was lost or taken from you

will be restored to you in full.

So today, right now, this moment let yourself attend to what that might be and how it can most happily be brought into being, for the highest and best, of course.

This card can apply to many different people and aspects of life [and really is very timely during Winter, when we may begin to feel a tiddly taddly that things aren’t as happy and bright as our ideals would once have had them be], such as:

~ the artist who (thinks he) has lost his Muse

~ the investor who (fears she) has lost her basis

~ the manager who (believes he) has lost connection to his artistic side

~ the writer who (worries she) has lost her hope of prosperity

It can even imply a return of misappropriated property, a renewal of a sundered relationship, or the reopening of a realm of hopefulness that seemed long gone.

So the important thing to do is − without bludgeoning yourself!! − scan your life and acknowledge what it is you fear has been lost to you, or what you have in fact lost. Then let yourself understand that

TODAY is the day

you can renew that connection, revivify that dream, and reconnect with that hope.

By the way, some readers feel that this card tells us to be attentive to the possibility of helpful intervention by/through positive masculine energy. So keep an eye out for that. And if it’s there, for God’s sake, accept it!

Know what you would bring back into your life, for the highest and best. Know that this moment is the time when that renewal, that reconnection, that return, can begin. Go from there!

Bright blessings, joy and light!

Thought for the Day: ‘This boy is Ignorance. This girl is Want. Beware them both, and all of their degree, but most of all beware this boy, for on his brow I see that written which is Doom, unless the writing be erased. Deny it.‘ cried the Spirit… ~ Dickens, from A Christmas Carol

Today’s Weather: The children and the flowers. Carry sprigs of fresh rosemary for good cheer, or lavender for soothing. Holly to you!

On This Date: 1914 – World War I: The “Christmas truce” begins. The spontaneous truce is seen as a symbolic moment of peace and humanity amidst one of the most violent events of modern history.

The Judgement

Avalon

Fortune Cookie: Know what you want. Don’t be crazy, necessarily, but be willing to try something unusual or out of character to get it. Reach out for your destiny.

We last saw this card just nine days ago. We’ve now seen it five times this year, so far. Which doesn’t particularly mean anything, except for the fact that the card shows up in ways that may call attention to itself. And so we should PAY attention to it.

Daily Tarot ~ Winter Solstice 2011

December 22, 2011

Wheel of Fortune

Arthur’s Dream

Fortune Cookie: You’re finally in a position to really be on top of the world, in the way you have wanted to be. So let yourself believe in that!

We last saw this card at the end of August. Not a bad card for The Winter Solstice. Really! So remember, this is not only the card for Thursday, the 22nd. It is also the card for the entire winter season. So maybe we can spend a wee bit o’ time thinking about it, practicing what it offers a little bit and working out how to implement its advice for what’s up this season. Or the rest of our lives. Whichever.

In pretty much any reading, Wheel of Fortune augurs well, especially for the immediate future. It usually betokens a happy change of fortune and the beginning of a positive cycle. [Yes! Please!!!! YES!] [This message brought to you on behalf of most of my clients this past coupla months.]

Some readers would say, hop on! Make the most of your life, NOW!!!!

I agree with those interpretations, but my work with clients has prompted me to put a particular spin on that energy [no pun intended, for a change]. When the Wheel turns up I usually say something like,

Look.

Take a moment.

Pay attention here.

You’re finally in a position to really be on top of the world, in the ways you have wanted to be.

So first of all, let yourself believe in that. Let yourself KNOW it. Do what you need to do to move beyond doubt. As I’ve said before, doubt kills more dreams than anything anyone else could possibly do.

There’s a special tweak to this interpretation, though, and, as ever, it takes a bit of explanation.

The card indicates that over the years, and perhaps particularly in the recent past, you have learned tough lessons in hard ways. [Whenever I mention this aspect to a client, I almost always hear, “That’s fer dayum sure!”]

One positive result of that experience is that you’ve developed an enhanced ability to pick up on and read the subtle vibrations of a situation – of situations in general – to a much greater extent than most people.

This is a very effective tool for you right now.

I repeat:

This is a very effective tool for you.

Right now!!!!

Honoring it and using it will be to your advantage. Okay? Advantage? Yours? For you? Are we on the same page here? You? Advantage?

In fact, giving yourself permission to read and trust and use what you perceive about those subtle vibes (in an intelligent, I’m not gonna overload my mouth and blow my own ass up kinda way) is key to keeping yourself on top of the world.

It will help you if pay attention to the fact that the Wheel of Fortune is always in spin, and remember you can move along with it at the right moments and in the right rhythm. By doing so you can keep yourself from losing your footing and being dumped into the moat, thereby becoming dragon chow.

As I’ve said before with this card, one of these days I’ll have to do an article listing some of the excuses I’ve heard [and used], for not going with what we KNOW from reading the vibrations of a situation. [Like, “My boyfriend will find me annoying. He doesn’t like to be contradicted.” Get a clue, M’Dear. He already finds you annoying. And he’s gonna find you annoying ANYWAY, no matter what you do!] [Or, “She would never do that to me. She’s my FRIEND. She’s my MENTOR. She TOLD me so!” Oyeah? Betcha she has done it. Already. Twice. And is coming around for the third time now. With no remorse whatsoever in this lifetime.]

I’m not asking you to be paranoid — just honestly connected to the intuitive insights that come to you AS THEY COME TO YOU!

There’s an old shamanic saying: “You know what you know. Do what you know.

With the Wheel of Fortune as I understand it, I’d tweak that a touch to say, “You know what you know. Believe in what you know. Actin a skillful, respectful, savvy way on what you know.”

Make sense? Please?

Top o’ the world to ya! Permanently!!

Bright blessings, joy, success and light!

Quote for the Day: … we are trying to unravel the Mighty Infinite using a language which was designed to tell one another where the fresh fruit was. ~ Sir Terry Pratchett

Today’s Weather: Faeriefire aspirancies with organic interspecies grooves. Rock the Hollow Hills!

Daily Tarot ~ December 21

The Priestess

Nimue

Fortune Cookie: Know your magic. (Know you’re magic!) Own your magic. (Own you’re magic!) Do what’s necessary for you to be and feel inspired. Then use your magic consciously to benefit yourself and others.

Hmmmmm… The Priestess last appeared for us around the end of September. As I see it, it’s a wonderful magic-of-any-season-kinda-card. As perfect for beginning winter as it was for early autumn, then, yes? So give ye a goode and attent ear here. Or there. Or wherever.

In general, The Priestess is seen as a keeper of secrets, of ancient or arcane wisdom.

She is also known as a wielder of strong intuitive powers. So, this would be a good time to let your intuition guide you − try not to get in its way! And seek some ways to more fully engage your intuition in your everyday existence. Like dreamwork, maybe? Or… flipping a coin?

[So I suppose this would be a good day to get a reading. Or to schedule one, anyhow!] [[This commercial message sloppily thrown at you by ye committee to keep Nealio from looking like ye one-off Dickens street person, complete with wild sideburns, scuzzy, crumb-filled beard and stuff.]]

Some readers would say mystical studies may also appeal to you at this time, and you could take up the study of subjects such as astrology, tarot, dreamwork or other esoteric knowledge. Some would even say that incredible gifts await you; all you have to do is acknowledge that within lies all knowledge. There is some good sense to this last bit, ALWAYS! And it’s especially relevant in this sacred and haunting season, when most of us can actually feel the magic all ’round.

It being a weekday, this would be a superb day to go [if you can] to the Art Museum and just hang out among the unsurpassably beautiful power objects from other times, places and… dimensions. Basking in their amazing vibrations can be spiritually empowering, and just sitting with them can alter [and altar] your state of consciousness as profoundly as purposeful meditation. Or go in with your favorite MP3 meditation/music, and sit by something that sets your soul on fire. Try it. Really. You’ll be amazed and enlightened and want to do it on a regular basis.

Anna-Marie Ferguson, creator of the Legend deck, sees The Priestess as indicating inspiration and a powerful connection with the collective unconscious or world soul. Also, astute psychic ability. A good time for it, as Solstice night can bring periods where the realms of magic open for us! There can also be elements of a need for solitude today, so honor that if you feel it — and if you can. [I got dibs on the space under the bed!]

Finally, the Priestess is recognized as one who can walk fully and successfully in two worlds – that of ordinary reality and its people, and that the of the higher realms and the Fay. [Time to read old books about Findhorn again, maybe? (http://www.findhorn.org/onlinecommunity/monthlythemes) Or get to know Perelandra (http://www.perelandra-ltd.com/)?]

When this card turns up for a client, I usually offer something like,

The Priestess is an important role model. She owns her magic and uses it for her benefit and for the good of those she loves.

So, one of the critical questions that I often finding myself working through with clients is, “What IS your magic?” You can’t own it if you haven’t even identified it and been willing to stake a claim to it.

And don’t try to weenie out of the discussion by assuming I’m ONLY talking about Harry Potter-caliber ceremonial high magic.

So what IS your magic?

Is it a gift for healing from your hands or in your soothing voice?

Is it a long-developed ability to coax amazing music from even the most beat-up old piano (or guitar, or flute, or djembe)?

Is it a capacity to write clearly and with passion about things that would normally be a complete yawn?

Is it the knack to lighten the mood of a tense meeting with a smile and an off-the-wall analogy?

Is it a love for numbers that helps a not-for-profit manage its razor thin margin?

Is it a talent for teaching and inspiring?

Is it an ability to grow moss in the desert or sell refrigerators to an Inuit?

What is your magic? It’s what you love to do, and what lifts people around you when you do it, or what allows them some hope and healing because you do it − even if you’re stuffed away in a cubbyhole somewhere.

Know your magic.

(Know you’re magic!)

Own your magic.

(Own you’re magic!)

Do what’s necessary for you to be and feel inspired. Then use your magic consciously to benefit yourself and others.

Today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bright blessings, light and magic!

Four of Spears

La Cote Male Tale & Maledisant

Fortune Cookie: What is your perfect marriage? What steps will it take to get you there? How can you begin, at least with a baby step, today?

Okay, kids. We last saw this card way back uh… on December 3. And December 2. And back in April, the last time it was around, it also came up two days in a row.

So really, REALLY pay attention. Apparently there’s important stuff here for your life and for our world. (Stuff being a, like, significant technical Tarot term.)

In most Tarot decks, the Four of Spears would be seen as a card of harmony, prosperity, happy social occasions and perhaps even romance. So, especially because this is a THE holiday season, I hope you will find a way to have all that on tap for today, or at least for this evening. By all means go after those things… in any way that won’t get anybody arrested.

When I’m working with a client, I tend to perceive the card as having a stronger energy than those attributes listed above, wunnerful though they are. In fact, I feel this card makes makes a pretty powerful demand on the person I’m reading for.

Because of Anna-Marie Ferguson’s illustration for this card in her Legend deck, and the story it portrays, I call it “The Card of the Perfect Marriage.”

If I were reading for you − as I am just this sec, no? [now that I think of it] – I’d suggest you take a few minutes today for a good, hard, close look at all the major areas of your life, especially the ones that register as REALLY important to you just now – whether business, spiritual path, health, and yeah, even relationship – and ask yourself honestly:

What would it take — from everyone involved — to help the situation so that it can evolve into a “perfect marriage?” Or, what will it take to be honest with yourself and accept that a perfect marriage in said area really-prob’ly-utterly-just-ain’t-gonna happen? And what are all the implications either way?

And remember that, at least as it is represented archetypally, marriage is a coming together of opposites.

So think about how something that seems completely the opposite of what you’d normally expect — or would normally want to try or would normally think could succeed — might create the harmony, the prosperity, the health, the partnership, the opportunities, the “perfect marriage” you seek.

In the areas of your life most important to you today: What is your perfect marriage? What steps will it take to get you there? How can you begin, at least with a baby step perhaps in an unusual way or unusual direction today?

Bright blessings and happy realizations!

The Lovers

Gareth & Lyones

Fortune Cookie: When you have choices to make today, look for PERFECT partnership. You deserve it, and you should not settle for less.

Haven’t seen this card since mid-September. So here it is, not a moment too soon.

I always get the biggest kick out of clients who come to me and ask, “How can I find THE lover who is MY soul mate?” And I always take more than my fair share of grinchly delight in asking,

“You do realize what you are asking… what that REALLY means, right? You do realize that your soul mate is the ONE PERSON who can ‘help you’ learn the most lessons the fastest. Right? As in, the ONE PERSON who can hit every single one of your hot buttons all at one time without even trying at all. RIGHT? THAT’S what you’re looking for, IZZZIT?

The expressions I get in response are priceless.

Think about it [even though it is a Monday, and that takes extra work].

Anyway, as I have said before when this card turned up, if you REALLY need to know what The Lovers portends as a daily card, you more ’n likely need greater, deeper and more intensive help than I can provide.

Nevertheless…

Some readers see this card as a harbinger of attraction, love, beauty, and trials overcome. Others believe it speaks of fidelity.

Anna-Marie Ferguson, creator of the Legend deck, finds lots of wonderful things in this card, among them the blossoming of a valuable and balanced relationship or a connection on a higher level.

Really?

I mean, REALLY?

Sigh.

So yes, The Lovers is at the very least the card of a good, solid, balanced, loving relationship − one that is comfortable, open and committed, if not necessarily intimate. Platonic will, in fact, do very nicely. [Don’t throw things. I’m just the messenger.]

When I work with clients and this card comes up, I tell them they are being guided to look for perfect partnerships in whatever areas of life they may be asking or thinking about.

And I remind them to bear in mind that partnerships are not just about people.

A perfect partnership can be the right romantic partner at the right time, certainly.

But it can also be

~ the right working relationship (boss or assistant) or

~ the right work,

~ the right opportunity,

~ the right client(s),

~ the right doctor,

~ the right book,

~ the right business location,

~ the right prayer,

~ the right meditative practice,

~ the right sacred space,

~ the right Springer spaniel puppy or even

~ the right Tarot reader [This advertisement brought to you by the committee to keep Neal out of debtor’s prison. Ǔbest Hǘǜry Ubetcha, Secretary.]

So when you have choices to make today, AND in the foreseeable future, look for PERFECT partnership. You deserve it, and you should not settle for less.

Bright and perfect blessings!

Quote for the Day: …there were some things I believed in. Some things I had faith in. And faith isn’t about perfect attendance to services, or how much money you put on the little plate. It isn’t about going skyclad to the Holy Rites, or meditating each day upon the divine. Faith is about what you do. It’s about aspiring to be better and nobler and kinder than you are. It’s about making sacrifices for the good of others – even when there’s not going to be anyone telling you what a hero you are.   ~ Jim Butcher

Seven of Spears

Arch of Twelve Kings

Fortune Cookie: What do you want? What would your victory be? Assume today is the day that you begin to move toward sure victory.

Okay, kids. This card last turned for on Monday. And about six weeks before that. And about six weeks before that. So, I ask again, most humbly…

who’s not gettin’ their vik’try thing on? Huh?

I mean, lookey here… Reincarnation and all that is fine. But, in this lifetime, you only GET this one lifetime to get what you wanna get. So GET IT! Know what it is, and GET IT! Start. Now!!!!!

Grumble, grumble…

As I have said before, this is of those cards we should work with regularly to help us keep track of who we are and who we hope to be. [Who? Whom? Who cares?] It really is very helpful. And so it’s back again. [So know what you want, and GET IT! Know what it is, and GET IT! Start. Now!!!!!] [Back Igor, back. Down boy! Down!]

Ahem.

The Arch referred to here is a monument created by Merlin’s magic in celebration of the defeat of twelve lesser kings who rebelled against Arthur early in his reign.

As I’ve asked before: do the twelve kings sound at all like the chaotic, nagging, self-defeating things we get stuck thinking about ourselves, our talents and abilities, even our lives? Isn’t it wearying to find ourselves so often in rebellion against our higher and better selves? What a waste of energy, time, peace of mind, hormones, talent and… energy!

So listen up, y’all! I consider this to be the card of utter, total and complete victory. It may be victory after a loooooooong, tedious and/or hard-fought series of challenges. But it’s victory, absolutely, nonetheless.

Some readers indicate the Seven of Spears to be a card of bravery and success. Anna-Marie Ferguson, creator of the Legend deck, says it speaks of promoting unity for the common good and gaining the confidence of others, among other things. If any of those indicators fit what you’re trying to be about lately, assume you’ve been given a green light and MOVE!

As we look at what this card is prompting, let me ask this old chestnut:

If you were absolutely certain that you would

ultimately achieve the victory you want

− maybe after considerable time, maybe after considerable strategy and straining, heaving endeavor, maybe after having to release some things in order to ultimately gain what you want –

WHAT

DO YOU WANT?

WHAT

WOULD YOUR VICTORY BE?

~ How long are you willing to work toward it?

~ How long are you willing to go after it again and again and again?

~ How will you strategize for it?

~ With whom, and what will they bring to the table?

~ What endeavors will you put forth to achieve it?

~ What help will you seek, from Spirit and from those around you?

~ What would you give up, release, put aside to have it?

WHAT

DO YOU WANT?

What

would YOUR victory be?

Assume today is the magical day that

if you answer those questions honestly

if you answer those questions fully

and begin to put into play the elements

of your responses

you will move toward sure victory.

Bright blessings and victory!

P.S. Just as a corollary: What do you want to be remembered for one hundred years from now?
