Queen of Swords

Morgause

Fortune Cookie: Be very strategic. Be clear about what you want, why you want it, the impact it will have on you and your world, and what it will take to attain your goal. Then follow the plan that comes naturally from this knowing.

Hmm…. We last saw this important lady back in Late August. And, as some interpretations of Celtic tradition would see October 31/November 1 as beginning of the Celtic New Year, the card takes on even more weight for those who will be open to it.

It’s always good to bear in mind the insights she offers. [I say that even though I’m an Aquarius, and the idea of doing anything logical, plan-oriented and strategic makes me look like I’m about to cough up a gerbil. Two gerbils.]

This card certainly betokens being strategic in our lives and in our world – as I’ll talk about in a bit. That could, if you let it, lead to the question, “What is the difference between strategy and tactics?”

[God knows, I confuse the two about every chance I get. Which helps explain why I still drive an old Toyota instead of a new BMW, I guess.]

Strategy is the big picture look at a problem, situation or goal.

It focuses on the sea-change-sized thing that needs to be achieved. Defeating an enemy, preserving the ecology, earning a living as a Tarot reader − those are strategies. Concepts like objective, maneuver and security are among the principles of strategy. Sun Tzu’s The Art of War teaches strategy.

Tactics vary with circumstances, time and technology.

As I’ve written before when this card has appeared, if I were to guide you in marketing yourself as a Tarot reader for the eighteenth century, I’d suggest you get a beautiful snug little cart, paint it in wild and wonderful colors, and travel the roads from town to town to town in order to find new clients. And stay ahead of the sheriff.

If I were advising you to be a Tarot reader this year, I’d talk about blogs, e-books, web sites, apps, podcasting opportunities, corporations having you on retainer and maybe even securing sponsorships to help find new clients. And stay ahead of the sheriff.

[As you probably suspect from this blog in general, I still think that snug little cart thing sounds pretty good.]

So, tactics present a small picture perspective where individual trees are in focus, and dealing with them one by one is the action. Strategy focuses on the big picture of the entire forest, and whether to preserve it, napalm it, or something in between.

Got it?

Goodie!

I’m as lost as ever about this sh… stuff.

Where was I?

Oh. Yeah. Believe it or not, this all has to do with what the Queen of Swords would tell us about our day, and possibly our future.

As I always say to my clients,

I love the Queen of Swords. If anyone ever crosses her, disappoints her or gets in her way, she doesn’t get mad. She just has them beheaded. ‘Nothing personal,’ she’ll say.

(That is a tactic to eliminate an obstacle. The strategy behind the tactic is to ensure that her reputation will precede her and scare absolute hell out of those who might think to oppose her, or mess her about in any way. With a Queen of Swords, that usually works.)

The Queen is a master of BOTH strategy and tactics. And your ability to work –consciously — with strategy and tactics is what you are being asked to explore within yourself and your situation today. The Queen is intelligent, and may in fact be a scholar or have a strong scholarly bent, especially when circumstances dictate she must. She will do what is necessary to learn what may be essential for her to succeed.

So, if you need to learn something new beginning today, don’t resist. Get started! It will be worth your while.

Most importantly [at least as I have experienced this card in working with clients], if the Queen wants to get from point A to point B, she will take the time to clearly and accurately understand WHY she should do that (strategy), and determine every baby step necessary to move her from where she is to her goal (tactics). Just as important, she will exert the will to hold herself to every single step. She’ll take unexpected breaks if they come her way, but she’ll muster the grit to grind it out every inch of the way if she must.

So be clear about

~ what you want,

~ why you want it,

~ the impact it will have on you and your world,

~ and what it will take to attain your goal.

~ Learn what may be necessary to help you succeed.

~ Then put yourself on the path to your goal.

~ And if anyone gets in your way, don’t take it personal.

Just have ’im beheaded!

[Ummm… I mean, just find a way to cut him out of the situation. And keep on moving on.]

Bright blessings!

Three of Cups

The Dressing of the Sacred Spring

Fortune Cookie: Own your power. Help empower others. Seek others whose goodness and LIGHT is empowering to you. And do it in a joyful, celebratory way. Today!

A card last seen in mid-Septenber. And a perfect, perfect card to show up to guide us on Samhain! [Although I suppose it might have been a tiddly-taddly more perfect for Samhain Eve. But let’s make do.]

Anyway, always grateful to see this card. It’s such a breath of fresh air, hope and goodness.

A good card to savor and contemplate, and keep in mind as we share sweeties with the wee bairns (and begin to slog through the muddy mess at the bottom of the garden.)

First off, please remember that threes in any Tarot deck are power cards, or rather, that the issue the card is addressing is one of power, even if it doesn’t seem so on the surface. Typically, a three would offer counsel such as

~ beware of power games,

~ be prepared for power struggles,

~ watch out for failure to own your power −

or, better,

OWN

YOUR

POWER

FULLY

NOW

~ have a care against disempowerment

in any area of life, whether by the action

of others, or especially by your own action

or inaction

~ empower yourself

~ empower those you love and believe in

~ accept the challenge of owning all of

what you are and who you can be

Simple, really. [And I should know, being gormly simple myownseff.]

The Three of Cups is a card of blessing. It’s very positive in the potential it bespeaks.

Some readers find it to be a card of plenty, merriment or solace. Others see it speaking of victory or celebration with friends.

Fine, fine, fine.

Anna-Marie Ferguson, creator of the Legend deck, writes of the Three of Cups as acknowledging blessings, the realization of a dream, or festivities and bounty. Yessss!!!

I see it as a card of empowerment, fruitful completion and healing. How are these things to be fostered and achieved? By engaging in heartfelt, beautiful and joyful sacred celebration with those of like mind and soul.

Uh… Well… Just for tonight, then.

Please, today, take some time, even if just a moment, to connect with those in your circle who are positive, supportive and helpful − who inspire hope and joy and all good things in your life – even if you only do it for a minute.

Share something or share about something you can celebrate together.

Don’t forget to include your Spirit Guides, guardian angels, absent gurus, loving friends or even family members who have passed from this realm as you open to sharing and celebration. And let yourself be empowered by what transpires.

Remember that the Celts believed (and still believe) the Divine is present in every place, everything and everyone – including you and what you are doing now, and everywhere you will go and everything you will do today. So GIVE YOURSELF THAT!

Own your power. Help empower others. Seek others whose goodness and LIGHT is empowering to you. And do it in a joyful, celebratory way. Today! (Perfect excuse for celebration with good people!)

Bright blessings, joy and CELEBRATION!

Two of Spears

Bedivere and Kay

Fortune Cookie: Know what YOUR family of spirit would be like. Seek them. Find them. Let them help you change the world.

We last saw this card in lat-ish July. So, is there anyone here — beside me — who didn’t really pay much attention to this card back then? Huh? [Tarot reader knocked over by hurricane-force wind of clients in reading audience shaking their heads and saying, “Nuh-unnnh. Not me! Nuh-unh!”]

Jeez.

So…

Given that we are now well into deep autumn here in the northern hemisphere, please remember that this is always a really good card to work with especially if — how to say — familial connections… or working group connections… or relationship connections… may not be all one might hope. You’ll see what I mean when we get to my personal intuitive interpretation of the card. At least, I think you will. We’ll both see, then.

The Two of Spears is, in fact, one of those cards where my intuitive guidance has me going off in a different direction than the standard interpretation.

[Yep. Again. The Universe likes it that way. And that’s why I get the Big Bucks.]

Many readers say this card bespeaks things like riches, fortune, magnificence. Others might suggest you spend some time alone considering the advice of others [like your Tarot blogger, maybe?] in order to help make up your own mind about an important decision that NEEDS to be made.

Anna-Marie Ferguson, creator of the Legend deck, writes of proving one’s capability to manage a large project, planning for the future; exerting authority; riches and success, using all one’s talents to achieve a communal vision.

So if any of those issues are on your mind today, accept this info as an indication that you’re IN TUNE and you are placing your energy in the right place at the right time. [And if you’re NOT up for riches and success, FortheLuvvaGod, Goddess, etc., CALL ME. Soon. We gotta talk! 216-371-3433.]

HOWever…

When this card turns up for a client, I find myself telling them this:

I don’t know what your family life is like. It could be great. It could suck swamp water by the bucket. Regardless, I find the Two of Spears to say

~ ~ It’s time for you to create a family of spirit that is even closer to you than family of blood or marriage. It’s just time.

[That is, in fact, something some clients have a LOT of trouble with.

They cannot envision EVER being closer to someone than to their blood family. ALL their blood family. However bizarre, weird, twisted, hurtful, etc. the family, or some of them, might be.

All I can say is, it’s not impossible, and it’s often even healthy to have others in your life who are closer to you than the Amazin’ Flyin’ Fussin’ Burrito Krazees God decided to lay upon you for some of your early years’ life lessons.

So at least promise you’ll think about it. Okay?]

~ ~ You would do well to begin seeking and finding, perhaps one by one, a group of people who − because of the commonality of intentions, goals, hopes, spiritual path, etc. −will be as close to you as anyone could possibly be. As you, too will be to them.

So spend some time thinking about what it would be like to have a circle of people in your life who

~ would always have your back,

~ would always be able to hear your darkest secrets

and continue to see the Light in you,

as you would do for them

~ would seek to remind you of the highest and

best in yourself, lovingly and always

Then go about creating that circle. Slowly. Intentionally. With discretion. But get going!

Know what YOUR family of spirit would be like. Seek them. Find them. Let them help you change the world. and, given that this card is showing up for two pulls in a row, know that its energy and message is very important just now. For YOU!

Bright blessings and joyful meetings!

Eight of Shields

Wayland

Fortune Cookie: Do your MAGICAL work to help yourself find your magical WORK. And DON’T settle for less!

We last saw this fellow in early September.

I’m always nearly deliriously happy when this card shows up in a reading or on the blog. It’s a card with SO MUCH POTENTIAL and so much useful direction ~ if only we’d actually follow it! [By the way, Wayland was THE Master Smith to the Gods in British mythology.]

I always tell my clients that Eight of Shields is the card of magical work.

And you can interpret that as magical WORK

or MAGICAL work!

(Or both, of course. But, as I always request, feel it through for a minute and see if one doesn’t resonate more strongly… for today, anyway.)

So, let’s assume you focus on the first interpretation, magical WORK.

Well then, you need to be engaged in, or actively seeking (because that counts, too), employment that is so perfect for you it isn’t like work, it’s like magic. It’s such a joy — when you are doing what you’re doing in the way you’re doing it with the people you’re doing it with — it’s so perfect you can hardly wait to roll out of bed to get at it every morning.

As I’ve said before, believe it or not, those kind of careers and positions do actually exist. I’ve had that experience, even in the corporate world, and it’s wonderful! And it really didn’t require handing anyone a nice chocolate-covered hand grenade. Often.

So if a really soul-deep happy work scenario is not in your life now:

a.) It’s likely in part because you don’t KNOW what you’d really love to do, or

b.) You’re unwilling to admit to yourself what it is that you’d really love to do, and/or

c.) You won’t let yourself believe that you could actually, successfully, happily have that in your life without starving, and so

d.) You’re not letting yourself hold out for what you’d really love to do, or even

e.) You’re not letting yourself figure out what baby steps would help take you in that direction, or

f.) Something! Jeez, figure-it-out-fer-yerself-fer-gawdsake!

Who CARES if you’re too old to be a Mouseketeer? If that’s what would really light up the universe for you, at least start down the path and see what the job placement elves magic into your inbox.

But you’ve gotta be honest with yourself about your career ideals first!

Ah, but let’s assume it was the MAGICAL work interpretation that rang your chimes.

Well then, what kind of regular, ongoing deep and personal ritual, or ceremony, or magic or prayerwork are you doing in your life to bring about what you want in the world?

[Well why not?]

[What do you mean, “Such as?”]

Well… such as burning the right color candles in the right phases of the moon with the right kind of prayer for financial abundance.

Or getting the Feng Shui of your house together and in line with your desire to have (positive) fame and wealth in your life.

Or even making the time every day to use guided meditation/guided imagery CDs to help boost your immune system and help increase your energy to help you engage in your own career revolution.

Your magical work is exactly that:

YOUR magical work. For you it may be prayer, or dance, or singing gospel, or shamanic journeys, or herbal-infused spellwork, or candle magic, or HIGH CEREMONY, or whatever floats your magical/spiritual boat. But do it. DO IT!

And think about really working with both interpretations (magical WORK + MAGICAL work = MAGICAL LIFE!) together.

Move toward your magical WORK, and let your MAGICAL work help get you there more quickly, and keep you happier, more connected, more fulfilled while you work on getting there. It’ll make the world better for you, and everyone and everything. And that’s why you’re here this time, after all!

Bright blessings and magical blissings!

Seven of Spears

Arch of Twelve Kings

Fortune Cookie: What do you want? What would your victory be? Assume today is the day that you begin to move toward sure victory.

Okay, kids. This card last turned for about six weeks ago. So who’s not gettin’ their vik’try thing on? Huh?

I mean, lookey here… Reincarnation and all that is fine. But, in this lifetime, you only GET this one lifetime to get what you gonna get. So GET IT! Know what it is, and GET IT! Start. Now!!!!!

Grumble, grumble…

As I have said before, this is of those cards we should work with regularly to help us keep track of who we are and who we hope to be. [Who? Whom? Who cares?] It really is very helpful. And so it’s back again. [So GET IT! Know what it is, and GET IT! Start. Now!!!!!] [Back Igor, back. Down boy! Down!]

Ahem.

The Arch referred to here is a monument created by Merlin’s magic in celebration of the defeat of twelve lesser kings who rebelled against Arthur early in his reign.

As I’ve asked before: do the twelve kings sound at all like the chaotic, nagging, self-defeating things we get stuck thinking about ourselves, our talents and abilities, even our lives? Isn’t it wearying to find ourselves so often in rebellion against our higher and better selves? What a waste of energy, time, peace of mind, hormones, talent and… energy!

So listen up, y’all! I consider this to be the card of utter, total and complete victory. It may be victory after a loooooooong, tedious and/or hard-fought series of challenges. But it’s victory, absolutely, nonetheless.

Some readers indicate the Seven of Spears to be a card of bravery and success. Anna-Marie Ferguson, creator of the Legend deck, says it speaks of promoting unity for the common good and gaining the confidence of others, among other things. If any of those indicators fit what you’re trying to be about lately, assume you’ve been given a green light and MOVE!

As we look at what this card is prompting, let me ask this old chestnut:

If you were absolutely certain that you would

ultimately achieve the victory you want

− maybe after considerable time, maybe after considerable strategy and straining, heaving endeavor, maybe after having to release some things in order to ultimately gain what you want –

WHAT

DO YOU WANT?

WHAT

WOULD YOUR VICTORY BE?

~ How long are you willing to work toward it?

~ How long are you willing to go after it again and again and again?

~ How will you strategize for it?

~ With whom, and what will they bring to the table?

~ What endeavors will you put forth to achieve it?

~ What help will you seek, from Spirit and from those around you?

~ What would you give up, release, put aside to have it?

WHAT

DO YOU WANT?

What

would YOUR victory be?

Assume today is the magical day that

if you answer those questions honestly

if you answer those questions fully

and begin to put into play the elements

of your responses

you will move toward sure victory.

Bright blessings and victory!

P.S. Just as a corollary: What do you want to be remembered for one hundred years from now?

Page of Shields

The Badger

Fortune Cookie: Get down to what’s REALLY important; dig in to push that effort along. Pay very close attention to defining healthy boundaries as YOU perceive and need them. Then maintain and defend those boundaries fully.

Okay. No side (or snide) remarks about haranguing the Tarot reader, or badgering the old badger, please. As I said before, this is MY blog, and that kind of lame drivel is… MINE! And I own it. Especially on a Thursday. So don’t press my luck. Don’t… Umm… Oh well.

We last saw this guy in earlyish March. And I was just thinking, based on what I’ve been hearing from clients, it was time for him to turn up again.

Typical readers might say something along the line that this card implies focused application, study or reflection. They’d say, umm… if you really concentrate on what’s important to you, right about now you’re in a position to achieve extraordinary results. The implication is that you MUST put something extra inif you wish to get out what you really want. So figure out what that’s about for you and go after it!

Anna-Marie Ferguson, creator of the Legend deck, finds the card betokens such things as a tenacious, reliable person and a hunger for knowledge, among other interpretations.

In working with my clients, [and having encountered a badger just once in a meadow, and he was a MOODY little blighter] this is what I usually say when this card turns up:

I truly love badger. Badger really gets down to it and digs in to get things done. Badger prefers to be peaceable, a homebody of sorts who attends to the things that are necessary, the things that are important within the bounds of his or her own little kingdom.

And if you ever cross into badger’s territory without his or her express permission, there is no anger, no fuss. Badger will simply tear off your leg, leave you in a heap and go on about business, easy-peasy-comfy-cozy.

So I suggest that my clients understand badger as a pretty useful role model where defining and holding boundariesmay be concerned, especially in our culture. I haven’t ever had anyone NOT understand the importance of that. Nor comment that boundaries really weren’t an issue in their life, thanks.

So, for today:

~ Focus and study well, if you perceive that’s what’s in order.

~ Get down to what’s REALLY important; dig in to push that effort along.

~ Pay very close attention to defining healthy boundaries as YOU perceive and need them.

Then maintain and defend those boundaries fully for the highest and best of all.

Bright blessings!

Ace of Spears

The Grail Lance

Fortune Cookie: Be clear in what you want. Be clear about the why of it. Go after it evenly, directly, the way anyone with a strong, positive masculine energy would.

Okay, okay, okay. Who wasn’t paying attention almost exactly two months ago when this card showed up? Huh? Huh? And may one ask, HOW COME? Huh? Now, because of you, we ALL have to go through the same lesson ALL over again. Jeeez!

[Probably just as well. I didn’t pay it all that much mind meself. As usual.]

As those of you who have read this blog for even a short while, like, three days, will likely remember, Aces in any Tarot deck are cards of a new beginning. So, let’s ask again (and again and again, from time to time as the Universe prompts it):

~ How can you − how do you need to begin your life anew, today, this moment?

~ What changes can you begin, even in small ways?

~ What potentials can you believe in, hope for, reach for and remember?

Expect The Universe will keep asking that question until you (yes, you! Don’t try to weenie out of it this time!) truly remember to ask those same, powerful questions over and over again as a part of who you are!

Some readers feel the Ace of Spears has to do with invention or creation, and perhaps with an inheritance. Anna-Marie Ferguson, creator of the Legend deck, finds mental activity, revelation and beginning anew to be elements of the card’s meaning.

[So ’scuse me while I have a revelation.

Humteedum Deedum. Humtedee Deedum. Humtedeedeeedeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Deeedum. Ahummmmmmmmmmm.]

[Thank you.]

I believe the Ace of Spears asks two things of you when it appears.

~ First, it reminds you to become very clear within yourself about something you want or some goal you would achieve. It is, therefore, important that you know specifically what you want to go after – perhaps some major wish in life, or perhaps just a current, interim, in-the-moment thing that will be helpful or fulfilling for a short time, or serve as a useful next step.

It is equally important that you be clear about why you want it. What are your true motivations, and are they really for the highest and best? So this card is also about being conscious of what you would do and have, and of your impact on the world. I think we could all spend a little more time on this one. Or a lot more, if we were smart. Sez I.

~ Then, once that first, more internal step is completed, the Ace of Spears directs you to use strong, clean, clear, non-repressive and non-repressed masculine energy as your model − think Dalai Lama, maybe? – and simply go after your wish or goal confidently, hopefully, firmly and directly. (So it’s assertive rather than aggressive.)

Know what you want for that new beginning. Pursue it. Yourself. Today!

What is your new beginning? Be clear in what you want. Be clear about the why of it. Go after it directly, the way anyone with a strong, positive masculine drive would. Do something concrete about it today.

Bright blessings and blissings and beautiful, knowing beginnings!

Seven of Cups

The Questing Beast

Fortune Cookie: Go after the joy. Seek it, quest after it, demand it! And for pity’s sake, at least be sure you can actually define what it is − or what it would be, if you had your druthers − for you.

We last saw this card exactly four weeks ago. And it’s a GREAT and also actually useful card for consideration any day at all. At all. Any? Day?

Any?

So are we ready to pay attention? Huh? Huh? Eh?

That’s good, because it’s an important card with a very solid reminder. A reminder of what?

A reminder that we [most of us who are over five years old, ennyway] really need to work on joyfulness in our lives. I know. Sounds couter-intuitive. Right? Well, toobadpayattentionI’mtalkin’here.

So. Joyfulness. My advice would be to stop reading this, have a Guiness or a Mimosa or a tequila sunrise or an Irish coffee or some God Bud pancakes or strawberry cough brownies, or a…

Oh, wait. The blog police are scanning the office. Mindsniffing for fumes. [Creeps.] But that doesn’t mean YOU shouldn’t enjoy yourself in any of the ways suggested.

Or not.

Anyway…

We really need to work on joyfulness in our lives. Really.

This is another card where my interpretation may diverge a tidly, tadly bit [or a monster bunch] from that of other readers. And I’m pretty joyful about it.

Some see the Seven of Cups as recommending opening to visions through contemplation. [My astrologer Mary Ellen tells me this is a big year for me in that realm. Guess I better clean out the meditation room.] [Where is the meditation room?] [Oyeah. It’s behind that pile of books on Feng Shui and vegan grilling.]

Mustn’t argue with opening to visions through contemplation, ever, unless you’re ready to have the Storm Troopers of Light come kick yer butt all across the floor, not to mention several dimensions, with at least one of them being Texas. And gold lamé spacesuits with emerald wings and ruby go-go boots first thing in the morning are more than I can handle.

Know what I mean?

Some readers find the card dictates that the querent (questioner) has a choice to make, and must decide upon one of various options. [Like, maybe where to put the old Vox amplifier, kayac, blue aluminum Yuletide tree, statues of Grover Cleveland and pile of books on Feng Shui now that I’m clearing out the meditation room?] [Or whether to continue reading this silly sh… Ummm… Stuff.]

Anna-Marie Ferguson, creator of the Legend deck, sees this card as betokening – among other things − fantasy, whims or perhaps a bizarre turn of events. Right up my alley. [My office cat refers to my desk as Eddie Poe’s Bizar Bazar.]

I, however see the Seven of Cups as the card of utter, total complete joy and joyful abandon.

There may be some need to stay at least a bit grounded, so you DON’T go completely off into the realm of fantasy in a

҉ ҉ ҉ Wow, look at all the pretty colors! ҉ ҉ I’ll betcha I can too live on air and rainbows and weird herbal pancakes ҉ ҉ ҉ !” kinda scenario.

But [but! but! but! but! but!] this is also the card of

Fairy Favors,

creativity and

clear vision

around attaining true desires.

[Legally, mind.] (And, as I said to a client in a recent reading, it really does imply that you’re going to do some meaningful work on defining and owning what your TRUE desires in this life actually are!)

Right?

Thought so!

And this can be a great, great time to do some wishcraft around becoming reacquainted with the Green Fey Friends down the garden way now that Summer is nigh past, and work to re-earn the Fairy Favors they offer.

So go after the joy. Seek it, quest after it, demand it! And for pity’s sake, at least be sure you can actually define what it is − or what it would be, if you had your druthers − for you.

Let yourself renew your belief in and commitment to your happiness, and be open to the myriad magical ways the universe may offer to bring it to you. Let yourself be open to surprises and miracles in that regard. And open to a little Fairy Magic today!

Joy! Joy! Joy!

And JOY!!!

Bright blessings!

And don’t forget joy!

Hmmm… Kind of a nice card for a mid-Autumn day. Wish it were a Saturday.

We last saw this fellow a bit under a month ago. A just a month before that. So do kindly pay attention then, won’t you? I mean, it’s not like I have nothing better to do than crank out the same old information once every month or so, year in and year out, all throughout eternity. [Or maybe… I mean, it’s a niche, after all.] Nemmind.

Altogether now:

Tens in any Tarot deck betoken the

end of one cycle and

the beginning of another,

or even the end of one way of life and the beginning of another. So, if I were reading for you today and this card came up, I’d ask:

How do the things you have been experiencing – and more importantly, how do the things you have begun to long for in life just now – represent a strong message to you that you must allow yourself to acknowledge the end of a cycle and the powerful potential for you to move into something wonderful and new, even miraculous? How can you keep that in front of you not only today, but all through the autumn? [Because you should, you know.]

Then I’d say:

Beyond that general information about cycles, I believe the Ten of Spears says in no uncertain terms, “You. Yeah, YOU! Go on a spiritual adventure. Let yourself be open to new and incredibly transformative experience. Keep a sharp eye out for integrity, in yourself and in those around you – particularly teachers, leaders and spiritual directors (and even Tarot guys). And seek spiritual renewal through the wondrous. Yes, starting RIGHT NOW. Get going! DO IT!

So, in consideration of the fact that it’s time for you to begin an entirely new phase of your life, and in consideration of the fact that I’m reading for YOU today, let me be a little pushy and ask a couple readerly but obnoxious questions. [Doofus reader clears throat, straightens vest, cleans french fry grease from shirt, looks for lost fries, if any, for a snack, stuffs them in vest pocket, clears throat again]:

What ARE the spiritual adventures and transformative experiences and magical evolutions you’ve always hungered for but never really had the courage, or time, or cash, or whatever to pursue?

Now, given that you and I are

~ a.) Looking at the specific energy you are being asked to embrace to start this (perhaps suddenly new) cycle, and ~

b.) Bearing in mind that you are being asked to accept, own and foster this energy and therefore this transformational nature of yourself over an extended period (so you don’t think you hafta have it all together by dinner Saturday) ~

c.) What dreams, hopes, changes will you PLEASE actually give yourself permission to believe in andREALLY pursue so as to have achieved them by, say, a year-and-a-day from now?

(Okay, for you Capricorns, Virgos and Aquariuses {Aquariusae? Aquamarines? Aquadoodles?} you have my permission to take a minute and write the answers to those questions down in a list on paper. Aquarians — like me — will have lost the list by lunch anyway. Virgos will have the list memorized, backwards and forwards. With neat little inked-in squares at the head of each point. Obsessive little bug… Ummm…)

d.) And what are one or two baby steps you can take today and this week and this month and this season to begin the concrete process of demonstrating your commitment to this new cycle and to beginning your quest? (Aquarius, that would mean finding the list. Or even typing/printing out the questions and taping them above your desk. Or to your forehead. Or making them into a tee shirt. Writing them on your palm. Anything!)

So, will you love yourself and the world enough to take those questions on — for the “New” You (new cycle, new way of life, new whatever)? We’d all sure appreciate it!

By the way, here’s some info about how other folks see the Ten of Spears:

Some view the Ten of Spears as a card of

~ oppressive energy that is overcome to achieve success (So know that you may indeed feel challenged by the nature of the changes or goals you give yourself permission to go after, or perhaps by those around you who don’t get the point.)

~ disguise or false seeming (That’s why it’s important to keep an eye out for integrity in those you connect with, and perhaps even in yourself and your own motives, dammit!)

~ an awesome task which is successfully accomplished through perseverance (You deserve to take on something awesome. That’s what’s worthy of you and your true nature. Besides, that’s why you’re HERE right now. Right?)

So, for today and for this “New” You:

How will you (how would you wish to) end one cycle and begin another?

How will you go on a wonderful, transformative spiritual adventure?

How will you be open to miraculous experiences, and recognize the miraculous nature of your life and of yourself?

How will you guard your integrity and seek for it in others (even Tarot guys)?

How will you make this the most beautiful and wondrous of times

starting today, starting now?

Bright blessings and miracles!
