Tarot Card ~ November 23

Knight of Cups

Fortune Cookie: Think upon the commitments for this lifetime that you made before you came into being.  Determine the next few steps to keep you moving along that path –  or the first steps that will be necessary to move you back onto that path.  And GET GOING!

Well….  We last saw this card almost all the way back on May Day.  Have been feeling a lack of this guy’s energy meself.  It’s a card of sacred questing, and for all of us, whatever our spiritual path, it’s a good reminder of what’s REALLY important and worthwhile and magical and holy — at any time of year.

The Knight of Cups is always a good energy & good advice card.  As I said, I think of this as the card of the sacred quest.

Therefore, if you have been feeling that your life really isn’t going in the direction you and God (Spirit, The Universe, the Universal Life Force, the Big Enchilada, Beyonce, The Voice of John Cleese,  Usher – whoever) agreed to before you accepted birth this time around:

HEY!  YOU!!!!

Don’t you think it’s time to reconnect and GET GOING?

Some readers might interpret the Knight of Cups as the coming of a messenger, advancement in the world, or a graceful but not warlike person of great masculine energy [think Baryshnikov, I guess. Or George Clooney.  Or Angelina Jolie?].  Others could say it indicates someone (maybe you?) ingenious, full of original ideas.

Anna-Marie Ferguson, creator of the Legend deck I use, feels this card betokens a tempting proposal which deserves serious consideration. [However, avoid snakes in apple trees and guys playing the fiddle at crossroads. Things rarely work out.]  Also, an approaching opportunity for advancement.  Or an unexpected gift. [Duh!] So if something like that crosses your path today, assume you deserve it, accept it fully and gratefully, and run with it!

I still like my intuitive interpretation best. [And I say that with no modesty whatsoever.]

Think upon the commitments for this lifetime

that you made before you came into being.

 Determine the next few steps

to keep you moving along that path –

or the first steps that will be necessary

to move you back onto that path.

Bright blessings and remembrance of your sacred self, and the sacred in us all and everywhere!

Quote for the Day: Live your daily life in a way that you never lose yourself. When you are carried away with your worries, fears, cravings, anger, and desire, you run away from yourself and you lose yourself. The practice is always to go back to oneself.  ~ Thich Nhat Hanh

Today’s Weather:  A transdimensional hootenanny just past the holly bushes.  Love that centaur jug band!

On This Date:  534 BCThespis of Icaria becomes the first actor to portray a character onstage.

And: 1993Rachel Whiteread wins both the £20,000 Turner Prize award for best British modern artist and the £40,000 K Foundation art award for the worst artist of the year. [Which illustrates, of course, that pursuing your sacred path can be a bit of a bugger.]

Okay, now that I’ve petted Tabby for a bit and moved him from in front of the computer screen…

Though you may feel a little low on this guy’s energy, you still do your blog writing every day. For that I’m grateful (even when I don’t write to say so…grandkids here…busy, busy, busy)

I LOVE the quote: “…The practice is always to go back to oneself.” Especially a good one this time of year with all the busyness, family, hustle and bustle, etc. interfer with times of quiet and meditation.

Someone told me recently that Oprah says that when we help one person, we help the world. Thanks for all the “ones” you’ve helped!

    Blessings, Donna
